Couple of 66 years die three hours apart
Love at first sight. The love between Ho Khye Soo, 90, and his wife Ong Phin Nyar, 82, seemed so great that even death could not separate them when they passed away about three hours apart. Their marriage lasted for 66 years.
Ho was said to have no illness and was a healthy person.
“He visited my mum, who was in a coma due to kidney failure, at a hospital a day before they died. We tried to prevent him from visiting her as we did not want him to feel bad,” he said at his parents’ home yesterday. He said the family had wanted to bring their mother home but Ho died before they could inform him of their decision.
His brother Johny, 60, said: “My mother was an old-fashioned woman with strong family values. She took good care of us.”
