Ways to control your anger

Based on the article which was about the father who killed his wife after finding out that his wife had bludgeoned their three children to death, it was clearly that the man lost his temper and hit his wife in a fit of rage which ended up killing her.

Controlling your anger is a very important thing to do. It is essential because you won't know what you might end up doing when you are angry. There are many steps on how you can control your anger.

Firstly is by talking to someone. If you've got a close friend - maybe a person who has known you for years - or even someone in your family, talk things out with them. How you play this depends on you but often the simple act of talking about your feelings helps diffuse them. Oftentimes it doesn't matter if the person you're talking to says little if anything.

Secondly, write about it. If talking to someone is too much for you or if your anger fits have got so bad that no-one will talk to you any more, then write it down. Write or type away without editing what you write. Just write constantly for between 5 and 15 minutes. This kind of "brain dump" lets your subconscious out into the open and you may be surprised at some of the things you write. There's no need to show anyone else what you've written so feel free to vent your anger on the paper or keyboard.

Thirdly, get some exercise. Anything from a brisk walk to a workout in the gym. Exercise releases "feel good" substances in our body called endorphins, so chances are that this will help you feel better. If you haven't got a gym membership and the weather doesn't lend itself to going outside, you can improvise a punch bag by using a pillow. Ideally not a feather pillow just in case you break through the casing - clearing up all those feathers won't help your anger.

Till death do us apart

Based on the article on the 'Couple of 66 years die three hours', it is clearly known that Ho and his wife had a very good married life. They started of with love at first sight and that love carried them along for 66 years. In a marriage, efforts have to be made to maintain and strengthen the relationship between husband and wife, just like a seedling needs to be watered for it to blossom.

They are few ways to maintain a good marriage life. Firstly is by sharing. To maintain a good marriage relationship requires a lot of sharing. A load shared is a load halved. Vice-versa, happiness shared is happiness doubled! For example, if you can get your other half to do household chores together, both of you would be surprised that it could become time well-spent together, gaining a better knowledge of the habits, as well as the likes and dislikes of your spouse. If your spouse received a piece of good news and shared it with you, it would be most appropriate for you to express your happiness for him/her with a simple hug or a kiss! With a little effort to celebrate in the form of a meal or a small gift, your relationship would be greatly improved.

Secondly, is by quality communication. Quality communication comes about with patience, a listening ear and a sympathetic heart. I do understand that sometimes it is not easy to be patient with one another, especially after a hard day at work! Especially if there are also small kids around the house. However, remember the time when both of you were just getting to know each other? The efforts made then to try to present a good image in front of each other, and the willingness to listen so as to know each other better should also be practiced within a marriage. Try seeing things from his/her perspective, and you would realize that it is not hard to understand the behavior of your spouse.

The third way is by respecting each other. Everyone likes to be respected. Respect your spouse and you will be treated the same by your spouse. If you are married, there must be a couple of things about him/her that have made you agreed to the marriage in the first place. Do not be negative about things he/she likes just because it is not to your preference. Constant arguing will only worsen a marriage relationship. Try to find a mutual ground for compromise. Sometimes it helps to take a step back and look at things from a different angle.

Marriage is not the end, but the beginning of a long path of finding out more about your spouse, and learning to compromise and live with your differences in life. It is also about going through the ups and downs of life, as well as maturing together with your loved ones. Learn to appreciate the plain presence of your other half, and marriage life might not be as bad as you deem it to be.

From pretty to ugly

Pretty little things are turning into ugly little things. A team of divers has found out that the corals in Tioman Island have changed colour, which is a sign of them dying. Tioman Island is best known for its marine life. This is due because it has beautiful corals which come in all shapes, sizes, and colours. But know, the beauty of Tioman Island is dying.

The consequences of this matter is very much bad. Firstly, the number of tourists will have a drastic change. Tourists from all over the world come to Tioman Island for its cool breeze and also its marine life. If the corals are dying, what would happen to our tourism sector? The number of tourist will drop. This in turn will affect our nation's economy. Hence, the price of living will rise up and the public will start migrating to other countries due to the high economy.

Secondly, the affect of the corals dying will give a bad name to our nation. When tourists come to visit Tioman Island to see the marine life, they will be shocked and they will also have a bad impression on us. These particular tourists will go back to their home ground and will spread the news about our dying corals. This gives our nation a very humiliating image because Malaysia is one of the cleanest country.

Thirdly, it will affect our future generation. The future generation will miss one of our natural beauty. They will start asking their parents "What happen to the corals?", "why do they not exist now"? Parents, teachers, in fact the public would someday answer these innocent children's question. It is sad to know that our future generation will know be able to enjoy the beauty of Malaysia.

In conclusion, corals may seem like a little thing but it plays a very important role. Each of us have to be responsible for what has been given to us by God. If we do not, we are at the losing side. We should make sure that our nation's attraction does not die. Hold tight to the gold we have.

To good to be true

Was it wrong what the 41-year-old, Alias said regarding his sex life? For me, it is not wrong. Alias who is a Bahasa Malaysia teacher at SMK Menerong, was the inaugural recipient of the state-initiated Tokoh Nilam award to honour an ourstanding teacher.

During his speech, he said his secret to remaining active was to read, have an intellectual discussion with his wife and having sex nightly. Rather than congratulating him and being proud that we have a dedicated school teacher in our community, some parties that discredited him for openly saying about his sex life in the public.

The world is changing people. It's high time to come out from that squared box. People should stop taking sex as a taboo topic. If we are not open, then how will our teenagers discuss about sex to their elders?

In addition, Alias's eldest son also mention that their dad is a sporting person and discusses matters that are taboo in other families. Parents should take this as a starting point to start taking about matters like this. This also can strengthen the relationship between parents and children. If parents don't talk to their children about taboo matters, their children will then talk about that particular matter among their peers and seek wrong advices.

Why are teenagers consuming sex stimulant pills?

Teenagers are resorting to popping sex stimulant pills to enhance their “performance”. It's something new for us. The pills are known as Nospan. This pill is normally taken together with carbonated drink to increase the effect for few minutes. Nospan contains a substance that is called Dextromethorphan, which is usually prescribed as cough medicine, huge doses of it can cause hallucination. The usage of Nospan is drastically increasing among youngsters these days. Before we even could point fingers at our teenagers,we should at least spend some moment to think why are they actually consuming theses pills.

One youth, who admitted to taking the drug Nospan, said besides helping him forget his family problems, the substance had enhanced his “sexual prowess.” Note the phrase family problems. We should not blame them for their actions. Family problems are the main cause why teenagers consume sex stimulants pills. As we all know, families are not always perfect. Whenever parents have any arguments, they should ensure that their children are not affected by it. This can cause a teenager to be affected mentally and emotionally. For some parents whom are divorced or separated, their actions should not affect their children negatively. Parents should sit down and talk to them and tell them what are the actual reasons behind the 'broken marriage' and should make sure that the child gets equal attention from both parties.

Other than that, we can also read stories in the newspapers of a father who raped his own daughter. Teenage girls are advised not to go out from their house too often as you do not know what waits for you outside, and when the daughters stay in the house, this is what happens. How shameful is that! A father should be protecting his daughter from all mishaps. When a incident like this happens, a daughter will undergo a trauma that will cause her to be emotionally and mentally disturbed. This will affect her studies and her social life. They do not dare to inform other parties as they are scared. They will soon go astray and this will eventually lead them to take pills just to 'free' their mind.

In a nut shell, parents pay a very important role on their children's life. What a teenagers becomes in the future will show how their parents have brought them up. So parents out there, your children's future is highly depended on you.

A daughter from Johor Bahru was raped by her own father ever since she was five years old. He was sentenced to 20 years jail and six strokes of the cane after an appeal was made on his previous sentence.

At first, Mohd Yani Che Den, 42,was sentenced to 12 years jail and three strokes of the cane late last year when his case was mentioned at a Sessions court here. DPP Farah Ezlin Yusop Khan, who prosecuted the case, argued that the sentence should be increased as the victim was traumatised as she had been molested and raped her since she was five years old.

Mohd Yani then asked for forgiveness and promised not to repeat his mistakes, but he should know that it's too late to apologize as things can never be the same again. He took his role as a father for granted and did not protect his own daughter.

They broke up after 3 years, right after she was informed by a friend that he is married. Angie claimed that the money he owed her amounted to almost RM27,000 in credit card bills and another RM37,350 for loans and other bills.

Baby crawls out of parents’ bed and falls to his death.

It's time for bed time stories. A father who left their bedroom window slightly ajar to allow some fresh air to come in, never knew that his nine-month old baby would open that window and jumped down from their quarters in Subang Jaya.

It's so shocking yet true. This tragic incident took place at 6.30 a.m yesterday while the father,in his late 30s, the mother and their only child were sleeping together in at their home located on the third floor of the Educational Institute government quarters in USJ 6.

The baby boy, who was sleeping with his parents in their room, had crawled out to open the window which was beside their bed. The parents never suspected anything amiss as they were fast asleep.

When the woke up in the morning, they were shocked that their baby was not on the bed with them. They searched high and low for him all over the place. After few minutes, to their horror, found their baby boy fallen into a drain located outside their quarters.

ACP Zainal Rashid said that the infant suffered serious head injuries and died before reaching Sime Darby Medical Centre at about 7am.

For those parents out there, be caution of your little children as you never know what thier capable to do. Children always want to try something without knowing the danger of it. Parents are asked to ensure the safety of their children before dozing off to avoid any mishaps.

it's me! :)

Parents named me Joan Davina and my friends named me walking radio. How sad right? Im 19 years old this year and currently studing Mass Communication in Inti College Subang Jaya. I fell from heaven on 21st july 1991. I love talking. I just don't know why. Im born to stand out from the rest and hope to be better than all the rest,if that's possible:) I believe in karma. What goes around comes around people. Its so true. I'm not the type of person that will fight back because I believe in karma. In my life, people have done bad things towards me but I never took any revenge. Just stick to the truth and trust me,karma will get them back. Besides that,I am VERY VERY friendly:):) I love to make people laugh by cracking super lame jokes.

I come from a moderate family. I have an elder brother, mum and dad. There's only 4 of us,but trust me,it seems like there's 10 of us living under a roof. My entire family and also relatives are noisy, in a good way of course. We always have a good time together and can never stop laughing for anything. I have my own priorities in life. Firstly, is God. Secondly my family and thirdly are my friends. You might be thinking whether I'm single or taken? Well, people, I'm taken by a charming guy name Devin Joseph. You will know the right one when you meet one and I'm thankful that I have found THE one. He never fails to put a smile on my face and he's always there for me when I need a shoulder to hang on to. Well, he's the best thing that has happen to me:)

I love the colour pink. As for my hobbies, I have the most happiest hobby in the world,SLEEPING:) Yes people, I just love to sleep all the time. Other than that, I love traveling. Traveling makes me feel so good, I love to venture new things and also shopping in that particular country.

I've got many friends but only true friends left their footprints in my heart. They are the one that will stand with you till the end of life. Not many of us are lucky to have true friends. And I thank God for I found someone who would give her life up for me. A person whom I know will sacrifice her needs just to put a smile on my face. She's pretty, she's gorgeous, she's caring, she's MINE! She's Kavitha Menon. The reason I smile. The reason I am happy. Thanks for everything dear. Love you always.
